AWJS: The Redux

After J.J. Redick left for the NBA, the hot question ws who was going to be the next Annoying White Jump Shooter from Duke (Laettner, Dunleavy, Redick etc).

All signs were pointing to Jon Scheyer assuming the role, and he seemed to fit the mold. He's 6-4 (perfect height to hit jump shots), skinny, white, etc. Also, he scored 21 points in 75 seconds once in high school.

However, a new white guy has appeared on the scene, Taylor King. He didn't the press of his fellow freshman, Kyle Singler, who was recently named MVP of the Maui Invitational Tournament. He might have even been further down on the depth chrt than Nolan Smith, an athletic combo guard playing being Greg Paulus. He changed all of that in a big way on Sunday when he scored 27 points on 9-14 shooting, 6-11 three pointers against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels.

He fits the bill, hopefully we get to crown him soon.
