Loyal reader and good friend, Matt Kleiman, forwards this story out of the glorious country of Belarus.
During the second half a Belarus league match on Saturday, fans became increasingly amused with Referee Sergei Shmolik as by the end of the match he was hardly moving and just officiating from the center circle. Eventually, he had to be helped off the field with back pain, but when he got to the hospital, he tested for high levels of alcohol.
I just have one question about this. Apparently, he didn't present symptoms until the second half of the match, and the alcohol really kicked in by the end of the match. Does this mean he was slamming them down at half time, knowing that he was in the middle of a match?
